Terms & Conditions of Use

1. Terms

By accessing the Center for Communication and English Language Teaching (hereafter “CCELT,”) you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions of Use outlined in this website, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing CCELT course materials. The materials contained in this web site are protected by applicable copyright and trade mark law.

2. User License

Users are granted permission to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) from CCELT’s website for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title. Under this license you may not:

  • modify or copy the materials;
  • use the materials for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial);
  • attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on CCELT’s website;
  • remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials; or
  • transfer the materials to another person or “mirror” the materials on any other server.
  • This license shall automatically terminate if any of these restrictions are violated and may be terminated by CCELT at any time. Upon terminating your viewing of these materials, or upon the termination of this license, you must destroy any downloaded materials in your possession, whether in electronic or printed format.

3. Disclaimer

The materials on CCELT’s website are provided “as is”. CCELT makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties, including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights. Further, CCELT does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on its Internet website or otherwise relating to such materials or on any sites linked to this site.

4. Limitations

In no event shall CCELT or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption,) arising from the use or inability to use the materials on CCELT’s website, even if CCELT or a CCELT authorized representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage. Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, or limitations of liability for consequential or incidental damages, these limitations may not apply to you.

5. Revisions and Errata

The materials appearing on CCELT’s website could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. CCELT does not warrant that any of the materials on its website are accurate, complete, or current. CCELT may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice. CCELT does not, however, make any commitment to update the materials.

6. Links

CCELT has not reviewed all of the sites linked to its Internet website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by CCELT of the site. Use of any such linked website is at the user’s own risk.

7. Refund Policy

The CCELT Course is provided as an “all-in-one” software package, which means that once enrolment fees are paid, admission to the program is final. Whereas there is no penalty for failing to complete the course once enrolled, if you do not to complete the course, you will not be eligible for a refund of any enrolment or other fees paid.
This is in line with existing rules and regulations pertaining to certificate accreditation provided through CCELT, and with respect to which the course terms are obliged to adhere.

8. Course Expiry

In order to receive the TEFL certificate of completion from CCELT, you are required to successfully complete all aspects of the CCELT course (including unit-end exams and the final exam) within one year of receiving your course login details from CCELT. If you fail to complete the course within one year, you will not be awarded a certificate of completion and, in accordance with Paragraph 7, will not be eligible for a refund.

9. Site Terms of Use Modifications

CCELT may revise these terms and conditions of use at any time without notice. By using this website, you are agreeing to be bound by any updated version of these Terms and Conditions of Use.

10. Academic Integrity

You are expected to complete my homework assignments, quizzes, and exams independently. If you are found to have committed plagiarism, you will be removed from the course and will not be awarded the CCELT certificate. In accordance with Paragraph 7, no refund will be offered if you are removed from the course.
You are prohibited from posting assignments, test questions, and course content online. If you fail to adhere to this policy, you will not receive the CCELT certificate and will be removed from the course. In accordance with Paragraph 7, no refund will be offered if you are removed from the course.

11. Failed Tests

Exams are locked after two failed attempts to ensure that you take the time required to learn everything necessary for the completion of the course. Locked exams cannot be re-accessed for forty-eight hours. After forty-eight hours, you will be able to attempt the exam again. If you are unsuccessful, the exam will be locked for another forty-eight hours, etc.
You must pass each unit-end exam before progressing forward in the course. To receive the certificate, you must pass all six unit-end exams as well as the final exam.

12. Governing Law

Any claim relating to CCELT’s website shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
